Neverending Covid-19 Coronavirus

What does that mean? Cannot go out at all? Can you still go out to get supplies (grocery, pharmacy)? I imagine you can still go to seek healthcare. Do you need a permit to circulate?

That's one thing I agree with the Governor of NY on. Shelter in place implies you can't leave your house. This is not an active shooter situation so why call it that? Likely it will be like the Bay Area. All non-essential business are closed and people are told to stay home except for when they need to go out and get food, medicine and what not. But there is nothing that says you must stay at home. He can still go out for a job as long as you are practicing social distancing and don't create a group larger than 10 people.

I know this guy is probably just upset, but:

In all of history, this is the closest analogy he could come up with to what it's like to not be able to find Tylenol?

Maybe he thinks that the test for COVID-19 involves having your hands and feet bound and being thrown off of a cliff into a lake. If you sink you don't have it and if you float you do... or maybe he just wants to be lit on fire? Who knows?🤷‍♂️

Update on Netflix. They have implemented a reduction of streaming quality to SD only for the next 30 days for all of Europe.

Update from Europe. Everything is still live in 4K Dobly vision here. I suspect that- with the sort of glorious cynicism I can really get behind- Netflix has looked at the witterings of the EU, looked hard for references to '4K' and 'HDR' found none and simply spiked normal subscriptions.

I came down with what is all likelihood a poorly timed flu, but my doctor was concerned enough to have me get tested which I did today. It'll probably be Monday before I get results they said. I'm now on day 6 of quarantine while watching the world unravel. This has been a surreal week to say the least. Fortunately my employer was good enough to drop my computer by and I'm all set up to work from home for now.
