It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Truth! But....that being said. Chelsea Liverpool Draw on Sunday please lol

Not fond of either Chelsea or Liverpool but equally I’m not thrilled at the prospect of city having it won by the end of January either lol

Unless you’re thinking Arsenal can catch those two, but you can’t have smoked that much, there isn’t actually that much to smoke…

City's a machine again. 6 goals against Leicester. Liverpool can't even get a penalty from Salah. It's City's world. We're all just passengers in it. At least I still have some European football to look forward to.

Yup City have won it with todays result. Liverpool or Chelsea probably need to virtually win out because City have been steamrolling everyone and don’t look like they’ll stop any time soon. They’ll probably drop a handful of points the rest of the season but so will the rest of the challengers. It’s over.

I was never overly optimistic about this season when Liverpool did nothing to address midfield depth. Thinking a combo of Keita, Ox, and Milner are acceptable fill-ins behind Henderson, Thiago, and Fabinho showed me FSG weren't serious about surplanting City this year. They addressed defensive depth issues with the Konate signing but left the midfield unresolved with all those players with known injury issues. Again, at least we have UCL where anything can happen in two matches.

Chelsea are too good. Think they’ll win the league unless they lose someone like Mendy, Kanté, or Jorginho to long term injury. Also it’s good to see Leicester fall back down to mid table, at least for now. One less team to worry about for the teams scrambling for that last top 4 spot.
Aged horribly 🥴

Wakes up hoping Arsenal can stop City's eventual run to the championship. Sees result. Goes back to bed and is going to sleep till 2023, hoping things will be different when I wake up.
