Vinyl Me Please Anthology

What record is this? I’m sooo curious!
Kudos to you. The self restraint shown is applause worthy. I'm curious what album this is but also understand if you don't want to divulge.

Prices have gotten a lot more reasonable since the release dropped...I knew I was paying too much but I didn't want to risk missing a chance to buy it since I was at the festival.

I completely understand that.

I’m holding out for a chance to get the live White Stripes promo lp from I saw them in Las Vegas in 2003.

Honestly? I don't know. I've been going back and forth for a while. I said to myself, $200 is my cutoff. Then it was more... and now, I don't know.

As much as I bitched and moaned about the last anthology, I actually really enjoyed it, despite all the VMP bullshit. It got me super into jazz and that alone has been worth the cost of admission.

If it were the 300+ price, I'd probably have to pass. Unfortunately, I have more money than sense. I'm also about to sell a relatively rare record for 200+ so that makes this hurt WAY less.

I'm not 100% on board. I need to see their pitch tomorrow. I want to see if they list the records, if they list the actual extras, etc. I'm at like 60% willing right now and the sales page tomorrow will decide it either way.
Which rare record?

I won't judge you. I bought the $300 Lemonade box set. And got DRAGGED for it. A lot. I had to take a break from the forum.

I wish this was not priced so high. Because it has the potential to be great. I'm disgusted not by you wanting it. I'm disgusted by vmp taking advantage of you (and others) wanting it. They need to find their integrity, it seems to have been lost.
I dropped.... $800 (?...I dunno, somewhere around there) on Babymetal Blu-rays and another $250 on their Pop toys. Because I wanted them. Fuck everybody that judged you for getting Beyoncé and one of the more important pop (kinda) albums of this century.

Ok I figured out how @botherly came up with $295. Not sure how I feel about $265 for 8 albums.

Yeah I'm not super savvy and I just clicked around until I came across it. $295 is the "early bird discount" price.

After the BN Anthology discount, $265 for 8 albums comes to just over $33 an album. Based on other comments, this is high for Motown records, but if you compare this with their standard store pricing, it's not that surprising that the price is $265. The set was a lock for me at like $230 or lower, but I'm gonna have to really think about it.

Knowing myself, I'll probably cave to the hype tomorrow when it's selling like crazy, but it's gonna hurt the wallet.

$33.12/LP

So literally no benefit to buying in bulk.

I hate to compare to Tone Poets, but those are $26-29/LP and fantastic examples of AAA premium audiophile products. To me, that’s the standard.

Though I’d like to know how the price was confirmed out of morbid curiosity.

Not only is there no benefit to buying in bulk, there's no benefit to buying before you know what's included. And it's all or nothing. I'm not one that typically gets bent out of shape by vmp, but this shit is wack.

I’m honestly OK to pay USD$33 an album. It’s expensive but I think it will be worth it for me personally. I totally understand why others think it’s too overpriced.

But If i have to pay USD$50 shipping, that will add an extra USD$6 per vinyl. So it will come to USD$40 for me. That’s just too much for me!

I’m going to ask VMP if they can give me free shipping! Maybe they will give it to me if I kindly ask 😂🤷‍♂️
