    In June, over the course of one week I will be seeing Animal Collective on Monday, Neko Case on Saturday, and Kishi Bashi on Sunday. I wonder if they'd just let me camp out in the venue for the week so I can save on Ubers?

    @mdmost signage said she'd be going on at 8:15 (doors were at 6, Chai started at 7), but I think she actually started more like 8:00...that's probably because it was an outdoor show and super cold and rainy though, and they didn't want to make everyone stand outside longer than they needed to.

    Thanks our show is indoors with a 9pm showtime. Bringing my 14 year old as Mitski is her favorite artist right now.

    Neko Case coming back to Houston in June! Makes me less salty about They Might Be Giants pulling an early-lockdown move and delaying their show for another one (1) year.

    Going to NYC next month to see Animal Collective. Just found out American Utopia is back on Broadway, so I decided to get tickets for that too, and now I'm 100x more excited for this trip than I was before!

    My friend Jarvis’ show Backstage Tea got an entertaining review on Paper…if you’re in NYC and wanna watch some broadway stars sing (and Jarvis wear a dress better than anyone) you should check it out since I can’t.

    I was supposed to see Chvrches on Tuesday, but ended up skipping...I had Tame Impala on Monday and Monster Rally last night, and I'm getting too old for 3 shows in 3 days. But my friends who went with my tickets said the show was great!

    Saw my first live show since 2019 last night, and today I scored tickets for Khruangbin's New Year's Eve show...pretty, pretty good end to the week from hell.

    And kudos to White Oak Music Hall for being total champs and implementing a vaccination and mask requirement on one day's notice from the band, and for enforcing the hell out of it!

    Jealous! I have tickets for shows next month and more keep popping up in October, but I can’t tell if I’ll even be able to go until all of this mess settles down. The uncertainty is painful!

    @Corycm it's looking like more and more bands are conditioning their shows on vaccination and mask policies, so I hope that continues. Even if Delta ticks down and masks get relaxed, I feel better knowing everyone there has at least been vaccinated...I know the vaccine isn't 100% effective, but it's something. But it'll be a while still before I feel okay elbowing my way up to the front of the stage

    and honestly- for the past few months, year even, it's really depended on where you are. everyone in my older progressive neighborhood in SA has been cautious and masked in stores, when I visited Uptown Dallas a few months back- nary one in sight. found it to vary by neighborhood in Chicago as well.

    @bfly rolling through 2 weeks later to say yep, it's that way in Houston too...my neighborhood has always been heavy with the mask use, and even in the absence of a mask mandate, most of the businesses I go to have implemented their own. But there are also definitely pockets of the city where that's not the case, and I try to avoid those pockets
