Anyone have a line on Pharoah Sander - Izipho Sam? It was in my Plaidroom cart and then sold out during check-out. I've been furiously searching the web for other sellers for the last 30 minutes.
And…technically could sound worse if there’s an issue that needs to be caught (thus a “test pressing”). More than likely it sounds the same (TP is approved) or sounds worse (TP is rejected for an issue). It is extremely rare that you get a LZII/RL situation where a better sounding pressing is...
Definitely excited about The Bright Mississippi. The album has a who’s who of New Orleans musicians playing some beautiful music. It also has great sound and imaging (I’ve used this as a demo disc and to audition new speakers). Really looking forward to what RKS can do with this one.
I have heard an OG a few times, but it was probably VG at best and I have a fairly low tolerance for surface noise. I also was not able to directly compare it to my Alto. If you can find a clean OG at a reasonable price it is probably a good pickup.
I bought the Alto new, but these prices now...
I have the record, which sounds fantastic. I assume Chad wasn’t able to find the metalwork, which is why he did a DSD needledrop. This is one of those “pry it out of my cold dead hands” pressings.
I may check out the HDTT transfer. I have a few things from them which are really well done...
That Jamal record is quite good, but this one sounds like you’re sitting in the front row.

I expect that if I ever check out a “local” Wilco show again it will be in Austin or Dallas.
The curtailed second set and perfunctory “imagine we walked off stage” encore summed things up for the night.
Yes, also thou shall not check thy phone at anytime (especially if any well known sporting events are occurring at the same time as the concert).
Again… learned the hard way (Wilco’s 2019 Houston gig in the midst of an Astros playoff run).
I highly recommend the new Cat Power Sings Dylan album.
I have the clear vinyl edition cut by BG and it sounds great. (Plus the album/music is great, as well.) It has been in heavy rotation here since the holidays.
The Otis sounds great. No issues with the vinyl, as well. Dock of the Bay is the best Ive heard and I have most of the reissues from the last 10-20 years.
Thanks @TenderLovingKiller®
I took a $16 flyer on this and it worked out. All 4 sides playback for me without any skipping (a little surface noise in places, but not bad...).
