Funny you mention Occasional Rain. That is actually one of the few test pressings I have and can’t remember when or how I acquired it. Sounds great though! Just spun it again for the first time in a long while.
Honestly, the RHF Ooh La La was slightly underwhelming to me. I’ll preface by saying that I’ve never owned a copy on vinyl but have listened digitally many times. I really think it’s down to the sound of the record, but some songs sound too wooly, lacking dynamics. I’ll have to check it again...
Literally just saw this on Hulu about ten minutes ago and had no idea this was coming out. I still haven’t seen Summer of Soul either and this Sly one is a definite watch. I think I know what I’m watching this weekend after the Severance episode.
I’ve recently gone down a bit of a bluegrass hole and bought a bunch of Tony Rice and Dave Grisman albums. The late 70’s and early 80’s stuff is absolutely phenomenal sounding. Also picked up a CD of the Pizza Tapes with Jerry Garcia and was blown away with how good that sounds.
