So last week I picked up a brand new and sealed Miles Davis bitches brew for $70. I’m pretty sure it’s an og pressing and Only thing wrong is a slight bit of corner damage but other than that it’s in great shape. I’m kind of tempted to open it up and give it a spin.
So while I took a hiatus from N&G for like what 4 years I think, I’ve been gathering up blue notes like crazy. I’m about to make a run but when I get back I’ll snap some pics and show them off. Got a few Japanese promos and I picked up what had to be a mispriced mono first pressing of Unity in...
So I met this woman who had a record collection to sell, which she eventually gave to me for free because most of the records were trashed except a few one being this one: 69’ Eldorado by Lisa Ballentine. I got home and looked it up and this thing last sold for $299. She has a folksy sound like...
Man its been a minute since ive been here in N&G talking music but a lot has changed and ive acquired many great jazz LP’s. So i’ve been hitting many estate sales and i wenf to one last year which was really unbelievable. So basically what happened was many records in the ad leading up to this...

First off it’s great to be back here posting. I’m all over social Media and neglecting what’s important but no more….
So I got introduced to Grado when I bought my Technics 1200G and the place I ordered ran late in sending it so as an extra they sent me a Grado Silver stylus. I absolutely fell...
Here’s my set up:
Turntable: Technics 1200G
Receiver: Marantz 2285B
Speakers: Denton 80th anniversary
Cartridge : Grado Gold
Record Mat: Hex-Mat Yellowbird
This is the best sounding setup I ever owned.
I have a ton of criterion movies but one of my Faves is RAN. First saw it in High school in English class because the teacher was trying to show the correlation between RAN and King Lear but that was my intro to Kurosawa and 33 years later I have almost all of Kurosawa movies in my collection.
first off WHATS UP GUYS?!?! Been a while and glad to see Hifi guy still doing his thing. So great read and I wish I could fit these in my room but I am still Rocking my 80th Anniversary Dentons and I swear coupled with my Marantz 2285 no matter what I throw on sounds amazing.
