Let's See What Makes Your Vinyl Spin!

My vinyl playing has ceased completely as the loft floors are a bit bouncy… looking at wall mounts. Anyone have success with a particular one? Looks like Pangea, Pro-Ject and Rega have offerings.

Any input is appreciated!
I made my own as well. I got a sheet of birch ply, a maple hobby board, glued them in a sandwich (ply/green glue/maple/green glue/ply) and clamped and nailed together with finishing nails. Rounded the edges of and sanded them smooth, then stained it. Mounted it to studs with some sorbathane between the wall and brackets. I used very heavy duty brackets rated at 100 lbs each. I tested with 90 lbs before I put a turntable on it. Honestly, I think I could sit on it. Anyway, it took two evenings and about $50.

Yeah, I was initially thinking he'd ask me to bring it in, but he said it's much better to dial it in there through my system directly.

Also pointed out that every movement slightly impacts the other settings. So change the tracking force by 0.2, now the alignment is off by portions of a mm. So he did a lot of back and forth until everything hits right.

Yes, in that case this really is a hard sell. Luckily that's not how I am. I haven't changed anything is multiple years.
My philosophy is: if I can afford someone else to do it better than I can, I'll hire them.

Exactly.
Plus people assume all audiophiles WANT to learn how to do this. I am fine knowing the basics well enough to do a cheap cart, but I really don’t want to invest in the tools or the time to learn to do this well.
Not for you specifically, but I do find that the MoFi Geo Disc does make the process easy enough that I no longer have trepidation about it.

Nonetheless, an expert with a Feikert protractor, a Fozgometer and/or AnalogMagik software will do the job better than I will 100% of the time.

I find it very interesting and satisfying to do my own cartridge alignment. It’s taken years of practice and patience but at this point with the tools accumulated in that time I feel confident I can do it as well as anyone. Wouldn’t dare doing it for anyone else unless really pushed, though. 😉
