Movies

This looks very exciting and I would like to make it a goal to watch more cinema this year moving forward. I have no idea what Criterion's shipping speed/efficiency is so if I weren't going on vacation in a week, I'd likely be getting a few. In the meantime, I will make an account based on the October mention from @ngower.
Barnes and Noble do a CC sale twice a year that runs longer, these CCs are usually Feb/Mar and Oct/Nov for 24h. The only real incentive to buy direct from CC vs BN is you get the loyalty points.

As for shipping, they usually fulfill orders within a few days.

I'm in ultra saving mode at the moment, and probably for a while😭 One day I will own that Bergman box tho.
Yeah that was a factor for me--still gotta get my USM and pay it off, and I'm probably pre-ordering a Switch 2 when they announce in April. I also snagged Bound and Farwell, My Concubine for $17 a pop at Wal Mart, so it's not like I'm Criterion-starved. Waiting for the next CC sale is totally fine.

Alright. Finally made my selections. Got 2 off my 90s Essentials list (Bottle Rocket and Rushmore). Also got Do The Right Thing as that's been one I've eyed for a while. Probably in my top 10 of movies. Got my brother one I know he'll enjoy that I can also borrow, Hollywood Shuffle. Debated Lone Star but I don't feel that's one I'll watch more than once. I'm trying to buy things that will get more than one watch from me to justify the price. Had a $10 credit from the Criterion Channel subscription my wife got me. Not bad at all and free shipping.

Finally watched Mickey 17, which I thoroughly enjoyed, perhaps in part because I loved imagining the suits at WB seeing the final cut and immediately going into panic mode. A wild and loopy picture with a deranged (and great) Pattinson performance and one of the absolute coolest creature designs in a hot minute. I will always cheer for Bong getting to so gleefully burn Hollywood’s money.

First time subjecting myself to this.

MAGA man was annoying (more that usual), Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu looked like they had no desire to be there and maybe it's just me but the Mister Mind CGI in the last bonus scene looked unfinished.

I found the first Shazam to be really fun, but I can't bring myself to watch this sequel...
