The Good Ol' Grateful Thread

As a big Dead fan, I have spent inordinate sums of money on unique items. A fancy version of a readily available canonical album is not one of those. If they put Dave’s Picks 5 out on vinyl, now we are talking.
Other than buying live Dead on vinyl, which I will no longer do as it really messes with the flow (especially if the chemicals are tuned in), I concur with everything here. I mean, how much money every year do I have to set aside for my Dead habit? This is truly unreal but I have to think that this is not for the likes of me, even if I've downed a whole Dark Lord all by myself in one sitting.

if you missed out on the $850 Europe '72 and have money to burn, you can get this $600 box set:

It does look pretty cool, and a good value for the amount of music. I just don't think that i would actually ever listen to the whole thing.

This one is more appealing to me than the Europe 72. But for CDs this should be half the price and they'd still make a lot of money on it.

I have the 30 trips box and love it, but don’t crack them enough for another one of these

Does it include divorce papers?

I need some help from folks more knowledgeable about the Dead than I. My new brother-in-law is a major Dead fan--He wore a Grateful Dead t-shirt to his own wedding--and I can't have him over for some drinks and music without some Dead albums on hand. It'd be a disaster. Can you all recommend some good pressings/albums to picik up? So far, I only have the new Rhino Hi-Fi release of American Beauty on my list. His favourite album is Terrapin Station.

I appreciate any help you can provide. 🍻
