My Morning Jacket

After one listen, I thought Side B was much better than Side A.

Loving the new album - “Everyday Magic” and “Beginning from the Ending” are taking turns as earworms today

I’ve decided I like it.

The first single (Time Waited) was kind of misleading and I needed to shake that vibe with a few listens straight through the album. It might be the weakest song on the album. Not sure why that was chosen as the 1st single when Everyday Magic and Die For It probably are most reprehensive of the album as a whole.

There is some definite Evil Urges/experimental vibes going on here - but the chaos/disjointed aspect of EU is smoothed out from song to song as the album progresses and it presents a more cohesive sound. I chalk that up to B. O'Brien's influence.

I Can Hear Your Love is going to get overlooked by the causal listener I suspect, but its going to sit nicely nestled up to Librarian if you are putting a "Sneaky Great Deep Cut MMJ" playlist together.

Over all, Is - is much better, IMO, than both Waterfall albums and more enjoyable than the S/T. Which means that the 10th MMJ album slots in at #5 or #6 in the rankings - also ahead of Tennessee Fire.

Speaking of Die for It, I predict that is going to be one hell of a jammy banger on the live set.
