Center channel, I assume.Wonder what the 5th channel thing is about?
Drooling…
The IV refresh wasn't that long ago, and they tend not to do them unless there's some sort of tangible advancement or correction they want to make. So I guess it's possible there will be a V that is compatible with active crossovers, but it seems like they are saving that for their flagship models (La Scala, KHorn, Jubilee). Is there any chatter of the Fortes getting another refresh along with the Scala and Klipschhorns?
Good, I figured but the fact that they seem to be out of stock at a lot of my locals had me wondering...The IV refresh wasn't that long ago, and they tend not to do them unless there's some sort of tangible advancement or correction they want to make. I'd have to poke around the rumor mill and see. It's possible they're moving to a more rapid update cycle. The gap between the II and the III was like 20 years, but the gap between the III and IV was only two (and, famously, Klipsch sold a conversion kit to upgrade a III to a IV, as that model was seen as a bit of a course-correction after user feedback on certain aspects of the III).Good, I figured but the fact that they seem to be out of stock at a lot of my locals had me wondering...
My biggest thing right now is spending all damn day searching online for anyone running the Forte IV with the Lyngdorf 3400. I see lots of chatter about staying away from Class D with the Klipsch Heritage line, but I also see people using the Lyngdorf with Fortes (including Darko) who like it. I think the room correction and tone controls probably make a big difference in this case.I'd have to poke around the rumor mill and see. It's possible they're moving to a more rapid update cycle. Currently running Class D with my IVs and it sounds great. Worry not.My biggest thing right now is spending so damn day searching online for anyone running the Forte with the Lyngdorf 3400. That's good to hear, what sort of power does your amp output? Just wondering about potential hiss with such a efficient speaker. 3400 is 200 @ 8.Currently running Class D with my IVs and it sounds great. Worry not.
I'm running a couple of Fosi V3 Monos, around 100W output at 8 ohms. No issues with hiss. That's good to hear, what sort of power does your amp output? Just wondering about potential hiss with such a efficient speaker. 3400 is 200 @ 8.
Great, despite the fact that one of my dealers specifically told me NOT to get the Fortes because horns like tubes... I'm getting the Fortes. Because I am stubborn. Now I just have to find a good price on them.I'm running a couple of Fosi V3 Monos, around 100W output at 8 ohms. No issues with hiss.
To be clear, that advice was accurate for a long time, particularly for people who find horns inherently unpleasant (not me), but I grew up listening to older Fortes on inexpensive solid state and still loved them. That being said, IV-series Heritage speakers are generally less divisive in their sound and tubes no longer feel like a necessary salve that the golden ears set have to apply to justify enjoying the speaker.Great, despite the fact that one of my dealers specifically told me NOT to get the Fortes because horns like tubes... Thanks yeah that's kinda the impression I got from reading various reviews of the IVs. And also the fact that Darko is literally using the damned 3400 in his review of the IVs. Not that I particularly care about his reviews over any others but, he's using the exact setup... it's gotta be fine at this point. Ideally I just want the option of swapping the speakers around if I want. Whichever sounds the best in the basement room with vinyl will stay down there. I imagine the difference between the L100s and the IVs will be a pretty fun one to play with. However dragging 75 lb speakers up and down the stairs will not.To be clear, that advice was accurate for a long time, particularly for people who find horns inherently unpleasant (not me), but I grew up listening to older Fortes on inexpensive solid state and still loved them. For your preferred genres I think you'd enjoy them on the same level as your JBLs. Possibly more. But this stuff is very personal.

Are you using any sort of isolation on them? Or just base flat on the floor? They don't have feet correct? They’re not light, but the footer offers a convenient handhold.
I had to haul these down the stairs from @HiFi Guy’s condo and out to my car. I learned some things about my conditioning.
