Record Store Day 2025

I wasn’t familiar with that La Lom album but they were spinning it at my store while I was shopping and the only reason I knew that is because it piqued my interest enough to look. I didn’t buy it but it was a cool album nonetheless.
So many great RSD releases this time around...and, La Lom has definitely been in steady rotation. Here is a video from the performance.

I grabbed a bill evans copy. Would have done Tim too if I hadn’t already gotten it for $38 😭
I think with how prices have shaken out, between those that dropped and those that jumped, I'm probably still on the better side, but at least three titles I bought are half of what I paid. But others are more than double, so I can't predict this rsd BS. And the one I thought for sure would be cheap isn't moving in either direction.

Still happy I waited on Cop Shoot Cop and got that for $15 last night.

yea--i thought Tim would sell out, but overestimated that one. really just knew i needed Pharoah. Got FOMOed into a few others that I am still happy to have, but could have waited for price drops. record safari usually starts putting stuff up on discogs at what i assume is close to wholesale price starting sunday night/monday after RSD and keeps adding stuff throughout the week. they had the sun ra for $100 or less, and cheap copies of lots of stuff. they can be a little slow to ship at times like RSD but haven't had any issues.

whats the one you thought would be cheap for sure?

Frankie and the Witch Fingers. Their last live one dropped to like $5 for a while. But this one is stubbornly hovering around $30 still.

I figured Tim wouldn't sell out because it had already been available in some capacity and 6000 is a ton of copies for a band that, IMO, has a following but not really outside the bubble of a certain kinda crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if copies drop to sub-20 prices.

i think i saw it selling out pretty quickly at a buncha shops so panic bought it haha.

i think they have the fan base to sell 6,000 copies if this record hadn't been reissued a lot in more recent times, i know this pressing also has a unique mix from the box set.

Tim is something that someone like me would have absolutely purchased… had I not already purchased the Let It Bleed box set.

I was probably not the only one in that same boat.

The box set has the same mixes at the RSD one (Ed Stasium and 2023 remaster)
Well, kinda. The RSD version has the original mix and Ed Stasium mix both on Vinyl. The Let It Bleed box set only contains the Ed Stasium mix on vinyl, it does come with the original mix but only on CD. I actually got rid of my original mix of Tim on wax so it would have been tempting to pick this up so I would have both mixes on vinyl but ultimately I’ve decided that if I pick up a copy of the original mix on vinyl I am gonna pick up an OG pressing instead of the reissue.

i didn't wanna pay $60 or whatever it was for the box, so was hoping for a breakout. still happy to own it even if i paid a bit more for it than what it will probably drop down to.

True true. Whole thing has been a very confusing rollout tbh.
