Looks pretty good to me Better than I'd hoped actually with it being a CW show. The comic it's based off is one of the better bat arcs of the last 10 years
Other than the constant reminder in the trailer that she is not batman, I AM HERE FOR IT! It is going to be cheesy drama. But an out LGBTQ woman in the lead role? Yes please. I am going to support that. @AnthonyI - what turned you off?
@Teeeee I just worry the cheesiness will detract/take away from the other aspects, I say this while literally watching the 1966 Batman series, but having men in a cheesy drama is more acceptable at this time (and that) since people don't take non-white men serious to begin with (though there is movement), hope I am wrong though
The dialogue is terrible, and as @Enoch mentioned, the cheeseness isn't going to help these, more relevant to the times, characters. So it's a wasted opportunity, I'm all for the characters getting relevant updates, but it seems its being done just to do it, rather than it being just part of who they are.
I disagree with most of that. Cheesiness is a plus in superhero based storytelling, Marvel is proving that to the tune of 2.5 billion+ in sales right now. Also it isnt done to just do it, this is based off of a highly successful run in the comics where Kat Kane became Batwoman in Batmans absence. She was the main character in Detective Comics for over a year, and has been the canon Batwoman since 2006.
Oh, I know where the story arc comes from. But successful comic book is different than successful TV show, let alone CW show. I don't see this cheeseness in Marvel, and what there is was built up over time and acceptance by movie going fans. And, DC isn't Marvel unfortunately. All I'm saying is that it being canceled after a handful of episodes helps no one.
