I got into them by listening to playlists rather than albums. Albums for me came second. Although it was their album “Painful” that clicked for me right away.
What @kvetcha said. I've made my peace with that. I can't get into Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend.
The YLT album that clicked for me was "I can hear the heart beating as one".
I just listened to Electr-o-pura this morning and I’ve heard I can hear the heart beating before. Whenever I read about them they always seem like a band that I would love but I have yet to connect with any of their songs.
@McGlam "Electr-o-Pura" would not be the album I recommend to new fans. Try "Painful" or "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out" those two are much, much more accessible.
If you are still keen to try more, I would echo the sentiments of either "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out" and "I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One". If those aren't for you, then they may not be your jam. S'all good!
I really just got into them fairly recently I agree with @wokeupnew regarding a playlist. From an album perspective, they all have different vibes maybe try some of there 2000’s albums. I would suggest Nothing Turns itself Inside-Out if you want something a bit more mellow or I am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass if yo want something a bit more rockin’.
And then nothing turned itself inside out is a great starting point. Summer Sun is good too. This is how I had always knew YLT until I saw them in concert a few years ago. The show was at the Wexner Arts Center in Columbus OH and no alcohol was served and it was standing only...so I stood sober and learned a lot about YLT I never knew...they can get noisy and they have moments of organized chaos.
