Zia is one of the big record stores. I have no food rec's other than the Strip. Lots of fantastic food choices there.

If you want that old school record store feel go to Wax Trax. I don't really like it but it's worth checking out. Next Record City. 11th St is ok. A little overpriced and hipster _ in the VMP book so

I would personally say don't waste your time at Zia(s). You can see their offerings on their website. Also 11th St is in the best part of town. Just outside of the tourist trap part of Fremont.

So you have The Container Park which is cool. Great restaurants and local flavor. They just opened up some shops in old motel called Ferguson Downtown. Has some cool stuff. One of the Mothership Coffees is there if you like local roasters

Someone mentioned Omega Mart. It is in Area 15. Just outside of China Town (Spring Mt Road). Not far from strip. China Town has dope restaurants. Revolving sushi, ramen, curry houses, etc

AREA 15 is really cool. Hasn't been around too long. My wife and I don't partake in marijuana but if you do get tix for Omega Mart and take some edibles. We were sober and that place is a trip. You can look online but it won't give you an idea of just how weird it is

Absinthe at the Ceasars has opened again. If you haven't seen it, it is one of the better shows on the strip. Unless you are sensitive about your humor - then stay away

Have you been to Red Rock? Great day hikes. If you've never been the Calico Basins are the way to go. Need a car to get there.

Some restaurant recommendations... Hash House A Go-Go (a couple of locations)
Earl Of Sandwich (my all-time favorite sandwich) There's a 24 hour location at Planet Hollywood
Wicked Spoon (favorite buffet) at Cosmopolitan
Momofuku, Milk Bar, Egg Slut, and Secret Pizza... All four at the Cosmopolitan

I really like CUT for a nice dinner. It's a Wolfgang Puck sponsored place in the Palazzo/Venetian. Record shops out there kinda suck TBH. Didn't go to Zia though. Downtown Vegas can be fun for a change of pace. There's a mob museum there that's actually pretty cool. Tons of shows of course. Good concert tix are expensive and you need to buy them well in advance. Have fun!

Speaking of museums, The Neon Museum is worth checking out, especially if you can book one of the night tours. It's got a lot of the neon signs from the old casinos and other establishments that used to be in Vegas.

@marshall Every time we've done a Vegas show we've gone to one of those Tix 4 Tonight places on the strip and gotten deep discounts on tickets, usually for that night or the next. We've seen Cirque Du Soleil (Mystere, La Reve, and The Beatles LOVE), Penn & Teller, and Blue Man Group. We also went to see Nine Inch Nails with Explosions In The Sky at the Hard Rock but that required tickets in advance.
