I still visit and read Stereogum often

Pretty much Stereogum, Pitchfork (for better or for worse) and to some extent Allmusic. AOTY is also a good resource to see what's out and to get links to all review sites at once.

My go-tos are Under the Radar, Gorilla vs.Bear and Exclaim! I also like The Revue Music Blog

I used to check G vs B a lot too but we grew apart for some reason... probably my changing tastes. But I do have them to thank for Toro Y Moi and Neon Indian.

I feel hipster saying that I rarely to never read reviews and if I do it's after solidly forming my opinion to begin with. I certainly don't seek them out. I guess I counter my hipsterism by admitting that while I don't follow or worship in any way, I do respect Fantano's methods and insights.

It's really not for the review portion, more for the discovery of what is new and coming down the pipe and descriptions of what a band sounds like/type of music etc...

I like criticism done well, music or otherwise. Hell, we'd have no philosophy without criticism. With that said, I like most of the aforementioned pubs. I'll check P4K weekly to see what's new. This place works well if you just want new.

For discovery I use NPR (and NPR-affiliated) articles/podcasts quite a bit.

Also WB Walker’s podcast for country stuff, but he’s been on hiatus awhile.

AlbumOfTheYear then. New releases added by week. There are year lists sorted by aggregate review scores and you can also dig by genre.

Aquarium Drunkard is the main one I read and has been for years. Great writing and their tastes overlap a lot with mine.

I still read P4K but I take their reviews with a grain of salt

my favorite music is regularly given middling reviews by P4K, I’ve learned to ignore them at this point.
