In the UK, I always gave cash in a Christmas card. But here we tend to get different post people most days sadly. I got the post office staff some chocolates last year as that's where the parcels are delivered anyway...
Would be helpful to know what they like if you chat with them. For me it's easy because I chat about shared interests in spicy food and IPAs with my postal guy, so always giving him hot peppers from the garden and good beers when I get some.
yeah, I live in the burbs, and he walks by my garden to deliver mail, so it's easy to have conversation when i see him, but I guessing if you're in brooklyn it's not as easy to run into one another or make small talk
reminded me to change my location. i'm in the burbs now outside of NYC. I still see him from time to time but by the time he rings my doorbell with a package and I go to get it, he's gone. you did give me an idea though...saw him at our local coffee shop this morning so maybe i'll get him a gift card to there!
I wish I liked my postal worker, but I swear they change on an almost daily basis here and I almost always hear them throw my records at my door when I'm home, so I'm not really fond of them right now. The lady at the post office is really nice and I'd get her something but they aren't allowed to take tips or gifts or anything in the post office.
@Hemotep we seem to have a few different postal workers but the main dude during the week is super nice so i'll leave something for him. we chatted about records a few times since he knew i get so many delivered haha
Royal Dansk Danish Cookies Tin seem to be a cheap pickup in most areas
