I don't like this because then it's one less person who normalizes my overflow.

My overflow stretches back over two years. I am hoping to cull over 400 but man I don’t like getting rid of my shit. Though I will feel much better once it’s gone.

I hear you and probably have at least that many that I could part with and at least 200 that just need to go. Figuring it out with my local is a hassle though since they're such a small shop. And some they don't want. Not sure what to even do with those. I have a stack that go in boxes I send out as bonuses, but I haven't sold any this year except to my local.

I have been doing this in smaller chunks this year. Got rid of about 50 albums so far. I just trade in about 10 at a time so I only bring home about 4 new titles. I need to check Discogs (I keep a category for 'sold' stuff so I don't buy it again) but I think I am at a net reduction of 35 for the year.

My problem is I'll sell it and then, weeks, months, or years later, I'll want to spin it again and it'll be impossible to get again

It's tough but it's very freeing. It also helps me to realize I needed to cut back my spending.

Every time I look through my collection I'm like 'But no, what if I want to spin [that record I haven't listened to in three years]'
