Maybe they just realized they couldn't ship the new ROTMs in time so they just said "let's sell it in the store so they don't get bugged that we have to wait 3 months for it"
Not a good comparison because that one's probably a wax time or other European bootleg that used the CD as the master and it's unofficial. The pure pleasure one Newman pointed out is probably a better example
i literally last second thought "maybe march will be a good record, I think I'll keep the 3 months instead of going monthly"... but then today its like "hey we are doing a VMP album" and now I lost like 30 bucks
