U-Turn Turntables - Discussion, questions and advice.

Long story short, I was scammed. Had a trade + cash deal finalized with a Facebook forum user involving my U-Turn Theory. I was able to determine the elevated risk and paid to have the shipment intercepted before too much financial loss. Reasonable offers are currently being considered for my...

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Still working on the "hum" with my Classic 3 as well. Haven't been home to do much but Keith at DL sent me some RCA attachments in an attempt to isolate the problem. Going without my records this long has been a severe PITA. 🙄

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Please tell me this news about Peter and VAS winding down business is offered tongue-in-cheek, no?! In other news, should have Darlington Labs' package by Saturday, where we're going to run some tests related to RFI and ground issues. Have really grown fond of my VPI Classic for a multitude of...

    The VPI Turntable Thread

**update** Keith, our friend at Darlington Labs, has been working with me on the feedback "hum" issue I've experienced since adding the VPI. I'm very confident we'll either resolve the issue or determine a plan B, and in fairness I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on this given work has...

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Ok, I've isolated it to what appears to be a bonafide ground loop. Haven't been able to investigate resolve yet because I just got back into town. Anyone ever subscribe to one of those noise eliminator gizmos? HumZero, HumX, or another worthy equivalent... preferably made in USA?

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Back with an update, folks. I'm still dealing with trying to figure out the "hum" feedback from the addition of my Classic 3. Have a couple messages into VPI and Darlington Labs, respectively, and imagine I'll hear from them soon. In fairness, I've been more or less unavailable dusk to dawn...

    The VPI Turntable Thread

With the provided instructions here, I was able to dial in azimuth/VTA. Still trying to figure out the Left channel feedback, as I've tested for loose wires/ground to no avail. Leave first thing tomorrow until Thursday night so I won't get back to this until then, unfortunately. Progress is good. 😁

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Thank you, will try this afternoon. My wife shares her office space with my audio room and she just went to catch up on some paperwork. 😁

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Yes, unipivot. Thus far it doesn't really intimidate me and I enjoy the idea of better overall contact within the grooves... that made the risk worth taking.

    The VPI Turntable Thread

Found the balance rod, which lever/knob adjusts the azimuth given VPI doesn't recommend you loosen the azimuth weights? Can tell I'll appreciate the additional tweaks available with this table, but outside of tracking force utilizing counterweight they're new to me. Haven't had time to...

Thank you for the responses, have evening plans so I'll check back in the morning. Only thing new to me is the table and cart.
