I'd give my left nut to be able to see Sonic Youth live. Discovered them right as they broke up and they almost instantly became my favorite band. It'll probably never happen....

STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

You don't need to watch most of Rebels (it's even more "made for kids" then TCW), but it produced a couple incredible scenes, namely this one.

STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

Ostrander is the man. Love all that DC stuff (The Spectre!) and his Star Wars material has that same dark introspection aspect that's so emblematic of his work. He wrote a good chunk of the "Republic" series (the flagship prequel era series coming out at the same time as the films), and is a...

STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

Most Legends novels really don't require much prior reading before hand (though the more you put into it, the more you'll get out). Most everything connects, so you'll probably find a couple names that aren't fully referenced; but I just take a couple minutes, look up the name on wookiepedia and...

STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

Well im glad you enjoyed what you watched, jumping around really is the way to watch TCW as opposed to straight through. Yeah the disparity between canon and legends, and their very diffrent portrayals of certain things can be jarring. The more Filoni adds to his Star Wars universe the more...

Do Cardi B, Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj (when she does Hip Hop/not pop) sound musically identical or am I just getting old?

STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

You did right by skipping out on the worst, most cartoony bits. There's the episode where the Sepratists mistake Jar Jar for a Gungan jedi, the one where the Gungans somehow capture Grevious and hold him for ransom...really any episode with the Gungans. There's also the unabashed film parody...

Yeah it’s not much different from any dumb cult classic comedy, it just connects with you if you watch it at a certain age. They really milked a lot of great spin off projects out of that All That cast.

and if you're trying to make a critical statement of the south while simultaneously playing in front of giant confederate flags, does your message really have any merit at all?

If it's indeed some nuanced take on southern pride, why even feel the need to pin it as a response to Neil Young's song? That seems like a deflection to me. I've done some reading myself and I find just many interview tidbits with members saying it's straightforward as those saying it's nuanced.

@Melt Face Molly Drop I don't follow that logic at all. Though Tarantino is definitely problematic, moreso than is generally talked about.

And any illusion of nuance gets discredited by surviving members/people around the band saying "No, this was one for the good ol boys". It's like they set out to make music that you'd listen to while dressed in your clan robes.

Every picture/video I've ever seen of them they're draped in Confederate flags, they felt compelled to defend Slavery itself by writing Sweet Home Alabama as a response to NY's Southern Man. That songs disgusting and just serves as a celebration of post-confederate "culture", with some...
