I just know I personally felt screwed over by then before quiting…there was that one staff member that would always try to be helpful in the forums but end up making false promises that fucked over users in the end, along with their CS at the time which would just send out new records to people...
I quit with them after the forum closure, and just have vague recollections of the problems after that (off the top of my head there was the few months they’d just send users double digit copies of records at random…one user got something like 70 records of a /100 pressing and ended up sending...
Do we have a master list of all of VMPs fuckups through the years somewhere? Whenever I see people promoting them I try to clue them in on their history of screwing over customers, but it’s hard to keep track of it all.
@Thackeraye Yeah I’m just talking about record sleeves, just used cartons of milk as a point of reference (we call them that in the US too), because that’s the only context I’ve ever heard the word carton
He went on about how any construct consisted of folded and glued cardboard or card stock is a “carton”, and blah blah blah. Dude was as pretentious as he sounds.
That’s absolutely ridiculous. I saw them 10 years ago on the unofficial “Good News…” 10th anniversary tour (played most of the album every night). Same venue they’re playing this year, tickets were $40 each after fees.
Do people really refer to record sleeves as “cartons”, like as in a carton of milk? Heard that one for the first time today and the guy tried chastising me on his correctness.
About once I year I try my damndest to get into Phish, and give up after becoming so unenthused.
I SHOULD like them, they SHOULD be great, I’m a deadhead and also love Ween and Primus, so why can’t I get into Phish?
Women specifically have always gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to male rappers and their place in the culture. I’d like to think that’s changed but seeing people champion Kendrick shows it it honestly hasn’t.
..for picking and choosing when to try to play the moral high ground and act as a pillar of the community, while routinely surrounding himself with serial abusers. (2/2, character limit).
@Fleetwood-Matt Yeah those 2 points specifically are huge gripes of mine with him.
It honestly probably comes down to an “art vs the artist” type of debate, which has been done to death. Personally I feel an artists views and art are irrevocably intertwined, and Kendrick is a disgusting hypocrite….
