    The Beatles

If you remember the film "Boyhood", there is that scene where Ethan Hawke's character gives his son a compilation of solo recordings from members of The Beatles that he dubbed "The Black Album". I'm sure everyone here knows that that was something that Ethan Hawke himself had actually done for...

No, it’s been running all day today. They’re on 2 now, the original will follow, and then the remake…because AMC. Tomorrow they are doing Friday the 13th, and they are going 4-Jason Goes to Hell, and then 1-3. It’s such a struggle for them.

AMC running a marathon of the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” movies as part of their annual FearFest programming, but opting to show them in reverse order, is peak AMC.

Always thought it was cool that Kris Kristofferson wrote a song in the style of John Prine as a way of saying thanks to Prine for being an inspiration.

Definitely steer more towards singer songwriters when Fall rolls around. Revisiting a lot of Dylan and Justin Townes Earle. And Paul Weller’s “Wild Wood” always sounds good in the Fall.

Revisited Julieta Venegas’ MTV Unplugged performance last night. It has been a few years since I’ve watched it. For me, it is easily the best Unplugged episode. Nirvana’s performance is iconic, and certainly more people have seen that one. But I still give the blue ribbon to Venegas…and I don’t...

Interesting. I feel like so many albums of late are almost too short. LPs that are running 35 minutes or so that I’m expected to pay $35 for. This one is about 53 minutes or so, and it closes with about 3 slower tempo songs in a row. Still dig it tho.

Enjoying this new Suki Waterhouse record quite a bit, although I feel like it could have been even stronger had it been sequenced differently, OR if it was trimmed by a few songs. Things slow down quite a bit towards the end.

5-10-15-20 (Your Music Through The Years)

I finally remembered to update my list. There are a lot of ways I could have gone for year 50. It has been a really tough year for me. A few weeks before my birthday, I learned that I would be losing my job as part of a massive round of layoffs. I was asked to stay on for 3 months to help wrap...

A Simple Twist Of Fate - The Bob Dylan Thread

Been listening to a lot of Dylan this week, and I have an embarrassing confession to make…I was completely unaware that Sinead O’Connor had recorded a cover of ‘I Believe In You’ in the 90s. I knew that was the song she was supposed to perform at the 30th anniversary show, but I was unaware that...

Over the past few years, I’ve purchased a handful of two-fers on CD from the BGO label. It’s a label out of Great Britain, but something is up with their liner notes. Not sure if they are AI generated, or translated from some other language, but they are always a hot mess.

They started those Anthology sets around the time I quit being a member, but I remember there being A LOT of issues with that first Anthology set. Was it a Blue Note set? I just remember there were a lot of unhappy folks based on the quality of some of the stuff they received.

In recent years I’ve posted a lot on this forum about Austin’s Moving Panoramas. Lead singer and songwriter Leslie Sisson was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and the band has created a Go Fund Me to help raise some funds for medical bills. Please consider donating if you are able. Donate...
