I’m building a second system for my record room. My Theory will be here today. They were able to sell me a customer return/refurbished unit with a Grado Green3 installed at a very fair price. They were super to work with. I’m impressed so far.

Closing on the new house in the morning. Also got the best security system ever- a Rottweiler puppy from the pound.

If the amp gets noisy, that’s likely one of the smaller tubes. They last a long time though.

I always kept a spare tube as backup, so get at least 2. Another is sure to go soon.

I’m not a fan of Heresys but they could work well in your situation. As could the Fortes. The big thing to watch is the amplification. You’d want something on the warm side of neutral. Neither require a lot of space from the wall behind them, which leads me to think you’d be good. If going...

If you like the SAE, I’d run that. You can put a spacer/shim between the cartridge and the headshell for a bit of added weight. I’ve been rotating between the LeSon SL-10, the LS-1 and my hotrodded Grado Gold3. I still prefer SL-10 to the others, but the Grado really is good.

Now I’m really interested to see what WAM thinks and how it measures.

I’d go flexible. Doesn’t the Soane have a removable headshell with a Boyonet mount? Does Sorane make a longer arm?
