To scratch my hunt for new music itch, i have started dubbing my own cassettes of music I would normally buy. It's been a fun process and it saves me a few hundred dollars a month.
I am going through very similar feelings and considerations. I would encourage you not to take extreme actions until you have given it some time...perhaps several months of not buying and just listening to what you have. Sell items that you don't want any more and set the money aside for items...
