Canadaland shipping shenanigans (and other conversations too, eh?)

I believe high road up in North Bay area used to do that too. EDIT: Looks like they don't anymore and they're threshold for free shipping is $129. Shame I used to routinely check them as they were pretty decent.

This is pretty disappointing to hear. I'm not sure I'm so sad now that my copy is somewhere in a Canada Post warehouse for the foreseeable future because Def Jam decided to ship right when they went on strike.

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I thought it was originally supposed to be January, but as it's November it just looks that much worse. I'm expecting a cancellation of this one for me any time as an International.

Is there an updated shipping date on Toussaint?

    Record Store Day 2024

If someone who actually bought Stress Eater can give me an honest review that would be great. Really wish I could stream that one first.

recordcellar.ca has a VG+ copy of "Special Beat Service" for $26 shipped, which made the decision to be warm and toasty and not have to deal with a bullshit line that much easier.

Thanks, setting a reminder. I was thinking the other day this HAS to be coming down the pipe at some point. Every time I see a restock I get excited only to find it's Moosebumps.

Holy shit is this available for Canadians? EDITL Nevermind, asked and answered. I'm so fucking in for this. If you pick up Stress Eater (Czarface + Kook Keith) on RSD you'll have to let me know how that is. Also, if I want this, when do I need to sign up usually?

Yeah, I think that's where I'm at now. You can't even listen to Stress Eater yet...I'm only about 50/50 on the Raekown (It's no Cuban Linx). The Beat is the only one I truly want, and I don't know if it's worth it really. The thing seems good in theory, but annoying in reality.

By the way: Anyone know what to expect in Toronto for RSD? I'm really debating it. I know Dead Dog has three I'm either wanting or interested in (The Beat, Raekwon and Stress Eater) at about 3-4 copies each, and they open at 8am. I'm not sure that kind of getting up early and lining up...

That is very true. If they could be remotely reliable I'd definitely pick up the occasional one, like I have my eye on that Ghostface. But the lack of CS replacements is definitely a cause for concern.

I can't see Sonic doing it, I say 50/50 on Rotate doing it. Looks like Play De is setting the price at $50-64, which actually is a good price point considering a monthly international sub was like what...$70-75? https://www.playderecord.com/#5c83/fullscreen/m=and&q=vinyl+me+please

Looks like Play De Record has signed on to be a local VMP distributor. Anywhere else?

It's always been hard to pick a favorite Kendrick album but if it keeps up like this it's going to EASILY be my favourite. EDIT: First the Nas homage now Tupac on reincarnated?

Historians are going to one day look back at Kendrick's insane run of albums. Four tracks in...if it keeps up at this level holy shit this may be up there. "Man at the Garden" sounds like a "One Mic" homage, but it's a goddamn helluva homage.

Anyone know of any record stores that have their list of RSD items in advance? I'm looking for English Beat's "Special Beat Service" and last time I went to Rotate This for a RSD drop they looked at me sideways (It was Tricky and I was able to find it elsewhere). My old local when we used to...
