All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Those tour dates include all five days of the Byron Bay Bluesfest which will be legendary. Presumably themed unique setlists, very easy to picture Live in Brisbane '21 vibes in Byron.

Vinyl Me, D - A Free Record Club

Incredible idea. It would be amazing if each participant was able to pass it on in due course with their own selections too.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

All of this has literally already happened, their manager/second drummer left, at least three of them have kids/got married in the last few years and Stu has been dealing with Crohn's disease his whole life. I think it's all structured so loosely that they can all fill in the gaps when needed in...

Rad, confirmed each dropping a week apart in Oct too.

The 33 1/3 thread.... (the book series)

The public proposal window is open. Anyone within the realm of submitting one or have any hopes for the next round of books?

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Am I correct that the new Murlocs album isn't available in Australia? Can only see pre-orders from the US, Flightless is typically so much cheaper.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Well they seem to have them sitting on the floor in front of them so I don't see why not.
  8. BoilerRhapsody

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I would expect this to be the norm until something is announced otherwise.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Haha good catch, didn't notice that. Definitely, it's hard to imagine two full jam albums (not one double) coming out of the same sessions spurred by The Dripping Tap, and not at least matching each other in some way. Yin/Yang could very well apply in a completely different way, like opposing...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

The Yin/Yang albums are only recently in development. Based on info from recent interviews and their last AMA, these three should be the two 'jammy' albums that came from the Dripping Tap sessions, and then a' super considered' Song Cycle that was started in 2017. It's hard to tell with the...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Feeling blessed, they just saw and responded to my Gizzverse Guide on Twitter. I've only just got the first level of it content complete (every release including bootleggers) too. Probably a good sign for that announcement that they're engaging with the community today.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I'm not sure that's hilariously big enough. Surely some combination of upcoming album announcements? Maybe something to tie in with the marathon shows, bootleggers etc as well?

    Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

I wouldn't call it dead at all. By nature its kind of a prediction of musical sound, and so as it actually gains some form of popularity, the 'genre' as it was known will disseminate into a more public ethos. I see it as very similar to Vaporwave, which was a seminal 'microgenre' that could...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I know Matt best from The Mighty Boosh, which if you are familiar with it might lend a pretty bad perception of what it might be like. He sometimes gets a bit silly, but its really not like 'comedy music' at all, just occasionally funny in a very quaint British folk way. I would recommend...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Yeah it really is, I haven't listened to it since it came out, and I got a lot more into J Dilla since then which has given me more of an appreciation for this type of thing. Haven't got to Eggy yet but keen to keep in touch with what Flightless is doing as a label.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Finally got to make the pilgrimage to Flightless Factory on the weekend. Picked up these and some merch. Seems pretty far removed from King Gizz these days, but they do still have their own section, mostly just of the latest issues so I felt my money was better spent on something new to me...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Obviously they are highly prolific, so 'absorbing' them may be quite different compared to other bands. But I might listen to 50 unique albums any given week. That may be a lot for most people, but you don't have to be anywhere near that rate for twenty albums in a decade to not actually feel...

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Thanks! This is the kind of crowd-sourced QA it needs.

All Things King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

So I've been working away at this idea for a long time and only recently figured out how to make it work. It's a tool to help discover the whole discography, directed at those who have heard a little that they like and don't know where to go next. I'm curious what you all think of it and what I...
