The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

Strangely enough, I listened to this last night without being prompted by this. 5/5, loved it when it came out, and I recently listened to the podcast Dissect that had an episode's analysis for each song on this one. Made me appreciate it even more. I'd say it's in my top three by RH.

The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

I listened to the first song (slash n burn) and thought "is this a sister song to rip n tear by LA Guns?"

    Baseball

Well, if there's a game 5 in the World Series, I'll be at the game. Pretty exciting to attend, even though I'm a Cubs fan by birth (haha). My oldest has been baseball obsessed (mainly by the statistics) this year, so it's kind of a gift to him.

    The Tom Waits Thread

It's pretty annoying waiting this long. I think I preordered mine about five minutes after they were announced, yet here I am waiting for them to be shipped. I could've just bought them at my local last week.

I just read the lyrics to a few of the songs (didn't listen) and the lyrics were enough to make me slightly angry.

    Everything Video Games!

Question: I'm not a PC gamer, so I'm waiting on the PS5 release for this. But, as someone who aspires to start playing tabletop D&D with my kids, would playing Baldur's Gate 3 help me learn a decent amount about how non-CRPG D&D works? I'm completely new to any tabletop RPGs, FYI.

The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

My favorite by them. I've never been of the opinion that it would be better as a single album; I love the massive journey it is, and wouldn't cut a single track. 5/5.

The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

As a singer who often gets compared to Buckley, I do love this album (I probably like the unfinished follow-up "Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk" a bit more), but it's an album that's much better in its live form. I always recommend watching his show at the Metro in Chicago for a better...
