I got a warp so bad on Merle that it scrubs the stylus on every pass before I lower the cue lever

I always think, "as long as it has the inputs I need then the rest is just insurance or options for later." Again, I wouldn't overpay for that, but the sound would be my biggest weighted category. To each their own though. And no issue not paying if you don't need it or care for the differences.

+1 for the sound being my decision maker. If it's close and one sounds better then I would always stretch. Otherwise you end up retreading ground later. It's a value decision more than an expense. I simply didn't want to comment cause I have no direct experience on these two amps

I lust after one of the Dr. Feickert tables with the Delrin platter and brass inserts... like you said many moons.

I I can't speak to the shims issue. I'm using the Geodisc so things are pretty simple protractor-wise. Basically my arm is flat when I measure it with a little plastic grid that I set on the deck. The rest is geo steps. I WILL say EZ screws are the jam if you get a protractor and dive in...

Good to know. The Absolute has this feature too. Self powers down for several seconds and the switches if you hit the button while playing though. I prefer Push Pull for every genre so far.

I'm not sure. Probably recoup some cash on sale. I can't imagine things sounding better than they do as I'm sitting here listening to "I Will Sing You Songs" by My Morning Jacket though. This thing is great with some time. The thing is even if the Manleys were even exchange on sound, they...

The Absolute is back and sounding great. It is a new one, but the volume circuit looks a tad different through the plexi glass and feels a bit smoother when rolling. I'm wondering if they tweaked it moving forward. In either case now I'm just waiting on those monoblocks.

I would go Fluance over u-turn having owned the latter. It just was not able to track better carts and was more fumbly to set up. The lack of ant-skate was a major issue in the end. Skate was "pre-set" from the factory so you are just stuck.

Dolly is a no-brainer talent, I just have never connected with her music. That said, I love Reba and Olivia Newton Jon was my first childhood crush, so I'm down for the nostalgia if nothing else. I'd be surprised at that last one though. Worth listens for sure.

This is where I'm at. I went with bookshelf with no ports from Zu. Once they got broken in it's REALLY hard to have them in a bad position. You can improve a bit, but basically with slight toe-in and making them wide enough and pointed at the listening height, they just work... on shelf, off...

It's a shame too. His music was transcendent of the genre at the time and he really was the king of Country Music for a good stretch.
