I think so. But, if Blue or something equivalent is all you ever want then that's fine. Something like the fluance opens the door for you to get much better carts in the future. I.e. you wouldn't be constrained by your turntables ability if you ever did upgrade other parts.

Fluance is a great option. It wouldn't limit you upgrading other parts when you DO finally decide to change some other parts. Someone else can comment on the Pro-ject. also the PLX-1000 is well regarded here.

I don't know that malicious is the right word, but at a certain point I think it's definitely an advertising thing. Ad a model that you know you can sell the cousin to and get more hits that way. It's a win - win, but when you go in expecting it that says something.

For sure. Room reverb is great. I don't mind saturation of reverb as an effect at times either at times.

I think it was more of a general smarty pants-y-ness. Reverb is cool, but not when it makes things that didn't have it sound like they have it. I'm sure it's a decay thing related to some high frequency being bumped more than actual reverb.
