Still my favorite album that she's created.

I listened to that boxset obsessively when it came out. I'm probably in the minority that's MCIS > SD. I kind of hated SP around SD, hated BWBW as well. When I got my first tattoo, someone put on MCIS. I heard the piano intro, they skipped tonight, tonight, and Jellybelly played. I was like...

    Upcoming/Recent Shows

I forgot that I saw the band Shiner in January, too. I wasn't familiar with them (listened to some albums just to acquaint myself with their music) but they were really brilliant. Possibly one of the loudest shows I've been to since my 20s, though. I had to walk outside a few times because my...

    Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

I know that I, as I've aged, have been even more drawn to noisy music, stuff that my wife may describe as agitating. If I put on Converge (who are my age, for crying out loud!) she's not happy with that. But then she'll surprise me and enjoy something totally jarring that I play for her. I...

    Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

I used to share more music with my wife, but then she hated a couple artists that were really important to me so I stopped. Now when I have new music she wonders why I don't share it with her. I don't think she takes is as personally if I don't like an artist. I tend to enjoy music she shares...

    Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

For me, if I share music that really moves me with someone I'm close to/care about and they don't enjoy it, I take it a bit personal. Like, "this music is part of me so you don't actually understand me!"

    Upcoming/Recent Shows

Don't really have any good photos, but it's been a busy concert season for my wife and I. Started with Billie Eilish, then Spiritualized (I really should listen to them more), then we won tickets to Chicano Batman a couple weeks later. This past Sunday we saw Smashing Pumpkins (my wife looked...

    Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

I loved the prequels, and I was in my 20s when they came out. I still love them, even with the clunky writing/directing. I'd put Sith up in my top 3 of the Star Wars films. I still think that, had Lucan been more of a story writer/overseer for the prequels, they would've surpassed the OT. I...

I just started NG+ last night, I think I'm at like level 225 or something. I respec'd from being sorcery focused to dex/arcane, dual wielding, and I got through Renella in about 2 hours. Kind of just melting early bosses at that level.

I think I'm going to start NG+ soon. I've like at level 225, and I'm mainly curious about going through the main gate of Stormveil (the one that you get warned about the first time through.)

It took me quite a while with that second phase. I relied a lot on my spirit ash, since I was more magic focused, and would just hit it with rock sling and some stars spell. Just had to watch for that 4x sword slash that shoots out holy magic. Now I'm just finishing off a few side quests...

Currently around 163 hours. Granted, some of that was just me leaving the game on in order to pick it up while taking a brief break at work, but I've buried myself in this game like I haven't in years.

Feeling bittersweet as I prepare to face the final boss in Elden Ring. I'm not really a completionist, but I've hunted down the big optional bosses for the game. I also doubt I'll play too much in NG+, though I'll probably load it up here and there just for the combat, maybe make a less magic...

I focused on sorcery for the first half of the game, then I found that adding a bit of melee (via Moonveil) is pretty fun, as well. So I mainly use sorcery, but occasionally pull out the sword. I felt pretty accomplished when I killed a late game boss with the sword.

Totally agree. I've had so much fun playing this game, and am kind of sad that I'm entering the endgame. For someone of my patience level, playing as a magic-focused (with occasional melee for fun) user allowed it to be just difficult enough. I understood her move set enough to eventually defeat...

Well, after nearly a week, several outfit/equipment changes, much extra level grinding and weapon upgrades, Malenia, Blade of Miquella fell to the power of a rock sling. Now on to the endgame! I heard that some of the Elden Ring community considers sorcery and spirit ashes to be "cheating" in...
