No, I am saying it is gonna be Tough Guys.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra plays on both Tough Guys and the Albert King album mentioned above. I think we got this one. For March, Leon Ware's Musical Massage (1976, Gordy) is a strong candidate. The connection to Marvin Gaye's I Want You (co-written and co-produced by Ware) could explain...

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

The first self-titled album by Dee Dee Bridgewater (1976, Atlantic) is her 2nd, and it is a soul/funk album even though she is a jazz singer. The 2nd or 3rd clue is a problem, but maybe Storf is pointing out that she sang the title track of Roy Ayers' Coffy soundtrack.

Has anyone tried Oscar Brown Jr. for January? I think Brother Where Are You is his 9th album (on Atlantic).

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

If it is Stax/Volt for February, we have two candidates: Frederick Knight's I've Been Lonely for So Long and the self-titled album by The MG's. (I forgot the solo artist clue. If it is Hayes for January, it is likely Frederick Knight for February.)

Yeah, my guess is likely to be too narrow.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

The competing label clue probably pushes us to Stax/Volt plus another Memphis label (Hi?).

    Third Man Records Vault

I think Disc 3 sounds best by far. My copy unfortunately has a tick-inducing scratch on Side F, but it's for only three revolutions.

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I just remember Cam as the guy who used to seem a nice host but ended up kicking us out without even saying goodbye. Fiedler at least gave us that what would you do with more time nonsense; Cam was nowhere to be seen those last days.

    The Blue Note Thread

The 3CD "complete" edition had 12 tracks plus an intro, which translates to a 6LP set with a track per side. They probably have unissued alternate takes from different performances to turn this into a 12LP spectacular.

    Vinyl Me Please Classics

Getting the master tape is a big challenge with Stevie, who is very protective of his masters and only leases out digital copies for reissues.

They are all nice sessions, but I'm not sure if any is a must-own. Booker Ervin's excellent debut would be my pick if I had to choose one.

They might be blaming the poor sales of the Dead set on revealing the content before release.
