July 2021 Vinyl Spin Challenge: Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine

July 2 - Here comes the summer (in the Northern hemisphere) Toots and the Maytals -- Sweet and Dandy Reggae/Ska has always been summer music in my mind and this is one that I haven't broken out in a while. I wish VMP would do more of the reggae exclusives that they did a few years ago. Those...

It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

I don't like Spain at all but will definitely be rooting for them after seeing the antics of Italy in the last twenty minutes of this game

100% a yellow card but no way is that a straight red.

Can't believe the ref flashed a red there. Ridiculous.

My friend: "So how is your week going?" Me: "Well, I tried to buy the VMP version of the Monitor by Titus Andronicus and got pissed that it was sold out already only to check my email later to see that I had actually already ordered it and forgot about it."

Alice in Videoland -- Best Of So I'm really curious to know if anyone on here has any knowledge of this band. I suppose the best way to describe them would be synth-punk, electroclash, electro-punk.

July 2021 Vinyl Spin Challenge: Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine

Day 1 -- Canada Day (Fête du Canada, parlez-vous Francais?) Lights -- Siberia Acoustic My cat wanted to join the festivities as well. So this was a tough one because I own A LOT of Canadian albums. However, after figuring out what the MAPL system was, I tried to find one that fit the...

Racquets and Balls: The Tennis (the sport, not the band) Discussion Thread

Hahaha. My deepest apologies. Please feel free to discuss as much badminton as you would like in this thread. I'm the reverse. I grew up playing tennis and was never able to get the hang of racquetball. I've tried several times. I've never tried pickleball or badminton.

Racquets and Balls: The Tennis (the sport, not the band) Discussion Thread

Yeah, he had feel for that lob towards the end of the match which was great to see. As you said, there were some definite glimpses of the Murray of Wimbledons past.

Racquets and Balls: The Tennis (the sport, not the band) Discussion Thread

Agreed. I think struggling through this five setter was probably a good result, all told. He took a couple nasty spills but like you said, he is moving pretty well. He needs to limit the unforced errors a little more but that is all part of shaking off the rust. Shapovalov will be a real test...

Combination of both. Mostly personality and style of play. I prefer the playing style of Nadal or Federer a lot more than Djokovic's.

I really hope Murray and Medvedev can make deep runs. Other than those two, I am basically rooting for everyone but Djokovic.

    Fresh Grabs

Mail day! I have gotten a ton of stuff recently that I haven't taken pictures of but this is the latest bunch. Most of it is courtesy of a free gift card I got to Amazon. And yes, that is indeed the illustrious $4 Garth Brooks boxset (despite being from Texas, I probably can't name a single...

It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

I really only got into the Bundesliga because I have cousins in Germany and when I became friends with some of them on Facebook and stuff, they would post about it so I wanted to know what they were talking about. I do get sick of Bayern though. I basically always just root for everyone but...

It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Honestly, I didn't really keep up with the premier league all that much when he played for Arsenal so 95% of my exposure to him was via international matches. I was more into the Bundesliga at that time. Now I follow both leagues pretty much equally. If we couldn't respectfully argue about...

However, I do still respectfully disagree with @Joe Mac about Per Mertesacker. I think he had a great ability to read the game and position himself well.

Feel free to add me to the list of people who didn't think that was a red card. Of course I feel bad for the injured Ukrainian but like others have said, injuries are a part of sports.
