    2025 Reading Challenge

We went on a long walk between towns over the weekend but not before stopping into a charity bookshop. I picked up 3 Murakami books that I was missing ("Pinball, 1973", "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman", and "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running"), a Jack Reacher ("The Secret" by Lee Child...

An insanely great album, one of my all time faves. I remember listening to it the first time and stopping in my tracks, it completely blew me away. I managed to get an original pressing last year which was one of my best finds.

I have to admit that I didnt like it as much as the other seasons. There was a lot that happened in a short space of time and although they tied up some loose ends, it seem to ramp up the weirdness a ton. Interested to see where Season 4 goes

I recommend watching the "Traitors Uncloaked" hosted by the excellent comedian Ed Gamble. We watched it after each episode and theres lots of behind the scenes bits and interviews with the contestants that reveals gameplans etc. Its only 20mins per episode so quite manageable.

I havent seen the US one yet, but I've seen all of the UK ones and love them. Each season has been slightly different which I enjoy. Season 1 had a naivety to it as it was new to the contestants (assuming they didn't watch the original Dutch version, which is quite different anyway) and to the...

Book 3 - Guess Who by Chris McGeorge (Hanover Square Pr, 2018) A cheesy looking "who done it" at first glance but it was quite a fun read with the odd unexpected twist. Nothing too fancy but decent all the same.

I can’t quite believe the speed of which they sold. Vol 1 is sold out and Vol 2 has 86 copies left (and only because it took longer to list for sale). Madness. I ordered both. 😂

    2025 Reading Challenge

For sure, I find I have to pace myself otherwise I could read the whole thing in just a few sittings. When it comes to books I typically try to buy from charity shops to provide a bit of support. I've lucked out with 3 of the first in the series (different visits) but it's becoming difficult...

Book 2 - The Expanse Book 2: Caliban's War by James S. A. Corey (Orbit, 2023) I've been slow on the reading so far this year because of a busy work schedule, but I did get chance to read the 2nd book in the epic Expanse series. I watched the show a few years ago and loved it and have since made...

This might be of interest to some people. A Tubby Hayes compilation. He was a fantastic poster-boy for British jazz and his music really packs a punch. This will be a decent comp for anyone looking to get into his music.

I thought I responded to this but must not have pressed reply! Enjoy, its a great collection of records and I'm surprised it wasn't more popular. Some of the albums are more of what I would assume is straight ahead gospel, but plenty have a more funk driven approach. Great fun!
