I’m not surprised. It’s been that case on every amp I’ve had too. It was most pronounced on the Quad super tubey amp but it’s pretty pronounced on the Luna. That said even the old Sony improved a little after it’d been rocking out for a bit!

It is. And so small too for an R2R DAC with I2S, which is a big deal with my limited rack space. Plus the reviews of it have been fantastic so far. Its bigger brother was on my long term DAC shortlist but from everything I’ve read and seen this new little one is the bargain in their stable!

Soooo I did some stuff! A local had a virtually brand new ex demoPS Audio BHK preamp for sale at €3,600. It sells for €7,500 here. They offered me €800 for my GCD so €2,800. Couldn’t turn it down. Going into the store tomorrow morning!

The deal is done! My PS Audio Gain Cell is no more! I’m off to trade it in towards a PS Audio BHK preamp in the morning!
