Day 29: Fiona Apple September 2017, Ohana Festival – Was a surprise to see Fiona on the lineup at all, and she really hasn’t done many shows since then. Play something by an artist who focuses more on music than touring. I'd love to see him live, haven't had the chance.

Book 9 - 33 1/3 - Horses by Philip Shaw Not bad, a bit dry I guess. I'll refer to it on my next full listen to Horses to see if I'm picking up what he's laying down.

Day 26: Pearl Jam / Sonic Youth July 2006, Viejas Arena – This particular show was memorable for a number of reasons, getting Sonic Youth as an opener was a big one. PJ played the Mother Love Bone track Crown Of Thorns and the rarely played Satan’s Bed, but the high point for me was the...

Day 25: Steve Burns / Starlight Mints July 2004, The Casbah – Steve Burns (of Blues Clues fame) released an excellent album with Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips called Songs For Dustmites, and did a short tour with it. Was a little odd to see him sitting at the bar nursing a beer before the...

Day 24: The Beat Farmers November 1990, The Barn at UC Riverside - The Beat Farmers were led by the late, great Country Dick Montana who died onstage in 1995. One of the best bar bands I’ve seen. Play something by someone who leaves it all on stage. My wife and I saw The Decemberists last...

Day 22: Grateful Dead December 1989, Great Western Forum – Hearing the Dead bust out Help On The Way --> Slipknot! --> Franklin’s Tower to start the second set was a surprise in the best possible way. Play a rarity, or something that would blow you away if you heard it live. Heck yes.

Day 21: Yngwie Malmsteen May 2019, House of Blues– Went with a friend who wanted to see some shredding. Fully enjoyed the experience. Play something with a shredding guitar solo. I saw SRV in 1985 in Ann Arbor, 8th row center. Foggy memories and no ticket stub. I have always loved the solo in...

Day 19: Flying Lotus / Brandon Coleman / Salami Rose Joe Lewis September 2019, House of Blues – This was a Flying Lotus 3D show where they gave out 3D glasses, which worked great with the visualizations and music he had setup for the show. Play something with an electronic or futuristic edge.

Day 18: Madness / Fishbone / Pandoras May 1986, Hollywood Palladium – Don’t remember a whole lot of this night, other than there was a lot of energy and dancing. Play some Reggae / Ska or something worthy of a Party At Ground Zero. Falling behind...here's some reggae.

It really is so heartbreaking. I have a close friend that went through something similar when his brother committed a violent crime...it helped me gain perspective; the families of people that do awful things aren't always monsters, and they live with those deeds regardless.

Watched Adolescence E4 last night. Gutted by that last scene. It's up there with a scene near the ending of Wit as far as emotional weight for me.
