Never went deep on Scott Walker but am really like this and it looks like I rated the other Scott Walker album we had pretty high.
I can't tell if he's supposed to be a serious crooner of if he's kind of putting on an act. Kind of reminds me of a Father John Misty in that you never know what...
The new Doves album has really grown on my over the past 2 months. I had kind of low expectations but it might be one of my favorites of the year so far.
When did Best Buy start using Door Dash to deliver online orders??? No dasher is going to take an order 30 miles from the nearest Best Buy to my house.
Is The Edge weird? Bono I understand. As a U2 fan, I completely understand how he is and why he gets the reputation that he does. The Surrender E-book was an experience though.
I think when people were using the term "Return to Form" at the time they just meant "not weird anymore." But yeah, it was definitely a transition record for them.
Everyone calls this their "return to form" record. To be honest, I liked what they were doing in the 90's more and didn't really want them to return to form. If I was ranking all of their albums this one would be below Achtung Baby, Zooropa and Pop.
Songs 1 through 6 are a 5/5. After that is a 3/5 at best. I've listened to this album so many times and still could not tell you what "Grace" sounds like.
I hope this isn't the only U2 album in the book. It's a good album but if all their big albums it's probably one of my lesser favorites. It's got some of their best songs but most of the 2nd half is pretty forgettable.
