Yeah, they're definitely more of a singles band. To me this album feels the most "Complete" of their whole discography to me. By The Way is another one that I can actually listen to the whole album straight through. Most of the others, Even BSSM, I find myself skipping around a lot.
I think the main reason I like this album more compared to their other ones is that it's RHCP at their most tolerable. This album could probably stand to lose a track or two towards the end of the album though.
Overall not a fan of the Chili Peppers but I have a fondness for this album. "Scar Tissue" "Parallel Universe" and "Around the World" are great tracks. This is a very summer of 99 album for me.
I made my thoughts known on the Rolling Stones the last time we got an album from them. This one didn't really do anything for me to improve their standing.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I've always had trouble listening to this one as it just feels like a bunch of samples thrown together. Wildflower is probably the one I've listened to the least. The newer one is actually my favorite one to listen to because I like all of the collaborations...
Not sure if it's the organ/piano, the slow dreamy tempo or the non-english vocals, but this is giving me some Sigur Ros vibes.
Thanks for only posting a single song...now I want a whole session of this! Get this girl behind a tiny desk!
