Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

If you have membership credit, I think that’s automatically applied when they bill you on the 1st. If you cancel before then, you won’t use your membership credit . . . but you also shoiuldbt be charged. Ideally, you’d be able to convert your membership credit to store credit before placing an...

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

You can cancel in your account without emailing. I don't remember exactly what the options are, and I'm not going to sign up again to redo it, but they're on the left side of the screen on your account page where you can see your upcoming record. I think it may be "edit" next to "Membership."...

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I'm no longer a member, but I had some store credit left and was tempted to try to use it before the ship is completely submerged. I signed up for a month yesterday during swaps, placed an order through the store to use up my credit, and then canceled my membership so that I wouldn't be charged...

    Jazz

I wouldn't think so. Also, Shorter's Schizophrenia was in the VMP set and later released as a Tone Poet. Those don't appear to share the same plates.

    J-Jazz (Japanese Jazz)

@Ethos99 has had Megalopolis up at Paladin for a couple of weeks. I've just been looking for other April releases to add to the cart before I place the order.

    Definitive Audiophile pressings

???????? Really? I'm pretty sure Green Day would have thought of themselves as "punk" when they were playing shows at 924 Gilman Street and signed to Lookout!

You're telling me I'm not the only one who uses that line?

The Idiot's Guide to Pressing Plants, Engineers, etc.

I strongly second all of these.

The Idiot's Guide to Pressing Plants, Engineers, etc.

And I know MoFi has rightfully earned the ire of many for deceitful practices, but the Wunderlich cuts I have sound good to me. I'd rather see his name in the deadwax than McMaster's, whose cuts aren't bad but are often pretty generic and flat sounding to my ears.

In case I'm not the only one who ordered the Hudson HiFi inner and outer bundle in mid-December who was still hoping it might eventually arrive, I thought I'd share this. I ran out of inners yesterday so went to the Hudson HiFi website to see what was up. I was surprised to see my order status...

Maybe. But it said On Time last week and that it would be out in January.

OK, so technically you’re correct—Media Mail is not on the list when scheduling a pickup, but you’re not associating a tracking number with the request. I just select first class parcel or whatever, and my mail carrier has never rejected the pickup. I’m friendly with mine, so maybe that’s part...

Famous. Last. Words. I probably thought that a couple of decades ago, yet i'm still getting multiple records a week. Go figure.

I see people talk about the difficulty of shipping all the time, but you know you can request that USPS pick up your package for free, right? That might be an issue for people who live in apartments, sketchy neighborhoods, really extreme climates, or rural places where they don't get mail...

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I was going to say that. That pressing is mastered by Bernie Grundman and actually sounds pretty good if you get a decent copy. Whoever presses those Candid issues is pretty unreliable. I think every one I've received has been warped and required my pulling out the Vinyl Flat. Once I get 'em...

I mean, no offense if anyone on here happens to know personally the people who started that plant, but with that name, I imagine a couple of guys trying to press records at an IHOP in the middle of the night with some highly modified industrial waffle irons.

I bet you're right. That's why the 500 copies of Little Beaver is being pressed at "Night Kitchen Record Pressing."

I looked the list over and thought, "Oh, at least my Black Keys preorder doesn't have that note: 'Current Timeline/USM is TBD." Then I noticed...

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know what that Mercury & Clef set was. It's still $99 ($49 on sale) at Udiscover but $38 ($19) at Sound of Vinyl. I don't have any Charlie Parker vinyl in my collection, so I've remedied that by picking up this set.

    Neil Young

I even had an additional 30% off coupon on this one, so I finally picked it up after telling myself I don’t need ALL the Neil.
