WELCOME TO THE 2025 WORST COVER ART LIST: Where we celebrate the truly awful!
This is is not a list for the merely overrated, nor the purely vapid or the simply questionable.
10 and only 10 covers so putridly lacking will coalesce by years end into one heaping pile of "WTF? "

With that, I present to you, this year's nominees:

1. Nominated by @RenegadeMonster and @Twentytwo

Editor's Note: You can smell the hot dog breath coming off of this one.

2. Nominated by @Viking Dan and @Nee Lewman

Editor's Note: This is a rare curator's nomination.

As a curator of his thread, I don't usually do nominations - but this is some egregiously horrendous BS:

This one reminded me of movies in the 70s in how the movie title would display at the very beginning. Almost glowing and a little shaky with a random landscaping backdrop. With that said, I don't hate it, and might like it more actually without the little hieroglyphics.

I see a picture of some dirt with some half-ass scribbles meant to approximate early American Indian art, but in sky blue and a title card purposely out of focus in some 5th grade balloon font.

I wanna know who saw this and said - YES! Exactly, that is the cover of the album.

But maybe I'm biased by the fact that this a side project of the drummer for the Potato Cult Band.

Ok - 2 months in and we have 2 nominees, so were on pace for the year.

Yeah, and I think it's a more meaningful conversation that takes place than the cover art with the facking dog's mouth on it.
Well you know the subjective part of Worst cover. Is the cover aesthetically unpleasant, yes. Does that make it bad art? Depends on the intent? I would need to hear the music which I may actually do because of the cover. So in one sense it has accomplished its purpose. In another sense? 🤷‍♀️

This cover looks like a child drew it and created their band logo. I feel no fear or even slight concern of an apocalypse in this depicted scene. The residents of Cheesytown depicted are a laughable lot, deserving of said plague.
If a band's gonna be in this genre, they need to look the part. 1000006931.jpg

While I don't disagree entirely with the sentiment, Butter Miracle, Suite One was released with ostensibly the same cover (just different text) back in 2021, so I don't know if it's technically eligible.
The question you have to ask is, does the text make it demonstrably worse?
