"Through the turmoil of personal loss, a reprisal of clarity and creative purpose has the ability to shrine through the darkest of clouds. A manifestation of growth and wisdom in the most unlikely of sources, art glues itself to the evolving pages of these stories unlike any other
medium. Such is the case when examining the meaning and output behind *Wylie Cable's* forthcoming LP, *Buried At Sea*, scheduled for release on his venerated and quickly expanding imprint *Dome of Doom*, on September 14, 2018.

Recorded over the last two years at Dome of Dome's headquarters in Los Angeles, Wylie Cable put the album together as a way to process the loss of his father, *Arthur Cable*. The literal meaning behind *Buried At Sea* stems from scattering his father's ashes into the pacific ocean. This was done per his dads last wishes and was also how Wylie Cable's grandmother, *Rosalind DeMille*, chose to be entombed. Arthur Cable and Rosalind DeMille both heavily inspired Wylie to pursue his artistic and creative aspirations during his upbringing, giving him the tools required to explore his deepest passions and desired explorations, and also serving as living examples of artists in his immediate family life. In the extroverted sense, the album theme is a meditation on the emotionally complex nature of loss and finding the beauty of life again. Loss of relationships, roads ended, and ties severed, the audience is given a vehicle to examine their own experiences of life through these universal themes.

During the recordings of *Buried At Sea*, Wylie Cable moved the Dome of Doom Records HQ from the Brewery Artist Lofts in Lincoln Heights where the studio had been stationed over the past six years, to a new location in the Mt. Washington hills. Severing a business relationship as well as a long time friendship in the process, Cable channeled this state of transition into the latter stages of the recording sessions. Seeking to further explore the ideas of tension, transition, and ultimately, resolution and peace. Features include old friends and staples of LA's expanding
electronic scene, *Daedelus*, *Kenny Segal*, and *Laura Darlington*. *Buried At Sea* intertwines disparate and blissful sounds into a mixture of
hypnotic rhythms and harmony, full of light and darkness. A field of emotionally enriched expression where the worlds of Frank Zappa team up
with Stravinsky, and the emergence of the LA's underground scene are melded as one. Wylie Cable's musical sensibilities as a whole are heavily
influenced by his studies of jazz, classical, world music, and polyrhythms.

Though the record is influenced by hip-hop and electronic music and rooted in sample culture compositionally, Wylie Cable performed a bulk of the albums elements himself, playing flutes, guitar, electric and standup bass, keys/synths, percussion, and more. Ultimately taking the idea of sampling records and reapplying it to his own recorded works, the music attempts to more fully bridge the gap between the skills of a traditional musician, and those of a modern producer.

A cerebral journey, *Buried At Sea* is best absorbed late at night while contemplating one's own mortality. Cyclical and trance inducing vamps build on spacious layering across the 38 minute album, paving roads for a new form of expression within the Los Angeles' experimental electronic community. All tracks were composed, produced, recorded, and mixed by Wylie Cable, with mastering supplied by *Christian Emmet, a.k.a. Gangus*.

The artwork created for *Buried At Sea* embeds itself into another window around Wylie Cable's life and the transitions he's made artistically. With an original painting created by Los Angeles based artist *Wyatt Mills*, the painting was made in close collaboration by the two artists specifically for the music and project themes. An abstract portrait that peels back the normalcy of one's identity and pulls out all of the odd and unique intricacies of the inward path of the artist. As a close friend of Wylie’s, Wyatt was able to give the cover a cumulative energy, communicating the experiences of loss endured and the outward and scattered meaning that holds to the threads found in humanity."
