Welcome to the January challenge thread, and welcome to the New Year!
Many thanks to @debar22 for a fine fun time in December, and to any and all of you for joining me here.

This month's prompts, much like my mind's inner workings, are a little all over the place.
That said I hope they prove to be fun, and not too challenging. Don't be afraid to take poetic license if you're stuck!

As per usual in these threads, try not to repeat something that has already been played, feel free to catch up if you fall behind and try not to jump ahead.
Personal anecdotes are always encouraged and appreciated but never essential to playing the game.

Grabbed this a couple weeks ago, but it's a pain to switch the belt on my table to play 45s so I don't do it very often. First time giving it a spin. Might have to do a day of 45s now.

Tin Machine - S/T (1989)

I found a copy of the this record a couple of weeks ago, just got around to cleaning it a few days ago and decided to save it for New Years Day. While I have my original (beat up) cd copy somewhere, this was the last Bowie studio album I did not have on vinyl.

Depending on what interviews you read, David wanted a break after the highs (Let’s Dance) and lows (Never Let Me Down / Glass Spider) of the 80s. He famously said he just wanted to be 1 vote in a group, thus Tin Machine was born. Thankfully it only survived a couple of years.

I have a few unplayed records that were part of the Joyful Noise 2021 subscription. That's partly why I have not resubscribed, though their rates are reasonable and do put out some good stuff. So it's a bit of a new beginning for me since for the first time since I've been collecting vinyl, I am not subscribed to any record clubs.
