I've been meaning to make this thread for a few weeks. This is where you post new albums by Canadian artists that you think we should check out. Increase our exposure to Canadian music, because, you know, reasons. So what's new that we should check out by Canadian artists? Might as well go back to 2024 too, in case there's anything worthwhile we might have missed.

I'll add a few things in the next posts.

I've been enjoying this January release by Art D'Ecco - he has a modern take on glam, and I find his recent album hits just right and it's lots of fun. Love the horns throughout.

Some upcoming stuff I'm looking forward to:

Choses Sauvages "Choses Sauvages III" - I posted about these guys in last month's vinyl challenge thread. They're a Montreal band that does a funky type of post-punk/new wave backed with analogue synths. I enjoyed their previous record and the singles and the singles look promising to me.

Destroyer "Dan's Boogie" - I'm always up for some new Destroyer. New album coming out end of the month.

I'll leave it at this for now. I'll post some 2024 Canadian albums in a few days.

Mathias Kom had long been one of my favourite weirdo Canadian music makers. Originally from Peterborough, he and his bandmates reside in the Maritimes these days. They just released their latest album this past Friday:

Ok, one more.

Yves Jarvis "All Cylinders" - released a little over a week ago, this one mixes R&B with some rock influences, maybe a bit like Neil Francis?

Nice, I played that one over the weekend. It's a fun one.
