So, now that we’re done building the megalist and all the top {variable x} lists are out. What music did you discover (through those lists or other means) that you missed out on and would like to spotlight.

I’m currently going through this here list:

The very first album is getting a second play today after hearing for the first time while running an errand.



Prude, the fifth album from Drug Church. They make punk music with a touch of metal. RIYL Bad Religion or (for god’s sake I can’t believe I’m saying this) Offspring. @scotthilk if you aren’t hip, you should be.

As far as new music goes, haven’t really listened to enough. However, this was a year I dove deeper into Sonny Rollins and Wes Montgomery’s catalogues and it’s been very rewarding

Coltrane’s Blue Train was the album that make me like the sax. Rollins’ Colossus was the one that made me fall in love with the sax. (Dex is probably my fave). Montgomery is someone I still need to dig deep in.
 
This one is cool:


I read it was Post Punk. It feels like that James Brandon Lewis with Messthetics but with a healthy dose of the London Scene (Shabaka especially)/Roni Size thrown in. So of course, need @avecigrec to put ears on it.

I don't love the vocals, but I don't all the way hate them either. Musically, though, this is super cool. I'll definitely be giving it a few more listens, and keep my eyes and ears out for future releases from them.
 
I don’t know that I love this one, may need a few listens to open up. That being said, I’m certain that the folk version of Radiohead vibes will be right up some of y’all’s alley:
