Glad it's not just me. I did just turn 46 so...Unfamiliar with all of these drops
I’m 32 and still out of the loop. Kids these days…Glad it's not just me. I did just turn 46 so...
I saw Sampa The Great when she opened for Noname several years ago (maybe before she even had an album out) and she was electric! Such a fantastic performance, my fiancee liked her more than Noname and we hadn't heard of her before then.the only one i know is nnamdi, and only because they put out the first nnamdi record and it had a hilarious cover. i'm liking the samba the great though. not enough to drop 35 on it, but i'm streaming her other stuff.

Gooooooo Winnipeg!!!!Brat wasn't his first, but i think the first to really reach the masses. I got on with Drool, which was the album before but I remember even then his Bandcamp had something like a dozen plus releases on it - granted mayhaps many/all/most were more mixtape than album, I don't really know the difference anymore!
He's also collaborated with Winnipeg indie band Royal Canoe on their last two albums, which is kinda cool.
Regardless of semantics, Nnamdi is awesome and I'm way excited for the new one!

cosign, they're really batting 1000 when it comes to the soul / r&b stuffLate to the party, but Spirit in the Dark is even better than I expected. It’ll probably be on sale again bc they pressed so many, but definitely worth it at any price.
either that’s a typo or you think they are doing a terrible job. That’s below the Mendoza Line.they're really batting 100
It's perfectly acceptable when playing for the Philadelplhia Phillieseither that’s a typo or you think they are doing a terrible job. That’s below the Mendoza Line.
I fixed it, although point of fact, although the johnny taylor selection is great....the actual vinyl they sent me has noise on that first song, so they're sending anothereither that’s a typo or you think they are doing a terrible job. That’s below the Mendoza Line.
Easy, we're over .500 And we've got June Schwarber (oh wait, it's July). It's perfectly acceptable when playing for the Philadelplhia Phillies
I know this is responding to an old post - but I move at glacial pace with my upgrades right now, work has kept me away from home and largely out of country for, oh, about the last two years....any way, I just ordered a Marantz SA-KI Ruby SACD/CD from MD. They've got them on clearance for the same price ($3K) as the SACD 30N (I don't really see any other places carrying the Ruby's and they were advertised as limited in number so I'm assuming deadstock at this point).I just suggested this on another forum, but if you don't need the network features at all, and you can get by just running a computer into the DAC, I'd keep an eye out for a Marantz Ruby DAC/SACD player. That unit is next level. You'll be done for a long time unless you just dislike the Marantz house sound.
