I agree on the first part, but if they overextended themselves trying to go after audiophile money they're effectively giving up on that now and if they don't realize that then the subscriber business is in trouble.I think the vast majority of VMP subscribers could care less about any of this as long as they get their coloured vinyl every month, wherever it's pressed. So I don't think they'll lose much there, however in terms of whether this signals actual money problems at VMP that could be an issue, yeah I can certainly see that being the case.
Reddit has been pretty anti-VMP for a long time. Thats essentially why they started a discord. The cracks are definitely showing, even reddit which tends to sway pro-VMP seems to be souring.
I'm also seeing more Impulse cancellations there, which definitely isn't helping them.
Pressed at: Who the fuck knows?
He's a partner at VMPressing right? lolView attachment 201909
Oh man I bet Herr Starr is SO pissed.
My experience has usually been: Say anything negative about VMP, get downvoted. It's why I abandoned it a long time ago, and just checked in to see how they're handling it.Reddit has been pretty anti-VMP for a long time. Thats essentially why they started a discord.
Yeah honestly the only thing I'm taking from this is we're going to be seeing a lot of GZ. But other than that I honestly doubt anything changes much.I have two things to say. First, I think people are probably overreacting to that article. I mean, there is a lot missing factually since it is a short piece and I would suggest that there are some strategic moves taking place here by the venture capitalist "owners". Perhaps waiting and seeing what comes of this might be the best course of action, though I do realize that some may need to protect their finances vis a vis their preorders. Second, as for the lawsuit, while it doesn't seem that there is much more out there, please remember that attorneys are paid for their persuasive writing skills and the truth, like much in life, is somewhere in the middle. If you post Offbeat/Defendant's response to the complaint and we can see the facts in their totality, perhaps a clearer picture of reality may exist.

I think that only matters if you care about who's right/wrong in this dispute. But I could care less about what any of the claims are. I only care that the pressing plant is not going to be pressing the records I bought and, if it came to the point of dissolving the relationship over money, then i don't want it to be my money that's burned in the middle if it means VMP is on shaky financial grounds. They already have 7 more months of my money and that's enough to gamble with on their bad decisions.I have two things to say. First, I think people are probably overreacting to that article. Woops I meant to post it in the magnolia records club form.
Totally get it. This is why I have no preorders in personally. My point is that people on this thread seem to be saying that VMP is going down in flames because of this. I think that's a bit hyperbolic.I think that only matters if you care about who's right/wrong in this dispute. But I could care less about what any of the claims are. It may be.Totally get it. This is why I have no preorders in personally. My point is that people on this thread seem to be saying that VMP is going down in flames because of this. I think that's a bit hyperbolic.
If you’re comparing it with Discord then sure. Compared to here, Reddit is still fairly pro-VMP.Reddit has been pretty anti-VMP for a long time.
I don’t think anyone is saying that VMP is going down in flames necessarily. Just that their business practices seem, at best sloppy, at worst unscrupulous and if, as a record collecting community, we are semi invested in the company through memberships and preorders then we might want to move with caution for the time being until there is a clearer picture of what’s going on.Totally get it. Wait, was this part of the people suing Cam? I remember AB, she was great
