agree that member price on this isn't terrible, AND was glad to see teacher/educator discount options added to the SheerID stuff, so I was able to save 15%
FYI i believe the 15% off code is multi-use.agree that member price on this isn't terrible, AND was glad to see teacher/educator discount options added to the SheerID stuff, so I was able to save 15%
yeah, that's what i was hoping, but said single-use & apparently that's the case. i also figured i could just get a new one via SheerID, but now that's saying "we couldn't verify you w/ the info you submitted," so who knows? at least i used it for a good sized order, but maybe should've saved it for an Antho down the road if it's the only one i'll ever get...FYI i believe the 15% off code is multi-use.
it does work. brought it down to $99 shipped for me.That mobile20 code that was going around last week MIGHT still work for this if you haven't used it yet. I tried and it gave me a "you already used this code" error.
Is this new? I think this is new.
Funk Reaction
'Funk Reaction', the 1977 album from Hammond B3 Organ virtuoso Dr. Lonnie Smith, is here on 1LP Cloudy Clear vinyl.www.vinylmeplease.com
Yep, $96 shipped here.it does work. brought it down to $99 shipped for me.
would heavily recommend you stream the album online -- this album is often found under this title, "best of the black president" or also "best best of the black president". There's also "best of the black president 2". And then maybe stream the full album versions of some of the songs, to see how you feel about 'em. like shuffering and shmiling goes from 21 minutes on the album to 12 minutes on the edit here, which is still pretty generous IMO. all the edits are pretty similar, at least on the CD version. Fela's albums tended to be either 1 long 30+ minute song, split into 2 parts, one per side, or they were 2 songs, roughly 15-20 minutes each. very rarely he would do a 20 minute on side A, and side B would be 2 "shorter" songs. the songs themselves have long solo or vamp sections and mostly these are what have been cut out. Even with these cuts, the 2CD comp is definitely missing some pretty important material, although I think it does cover the most necessary parts of his work (even if you do miss out on "trouble sleep yanga wake am" from Roforofo Fight.)I just dunno if it's worth only getting like half of these tracks that are supposed to be full album length
It can be yours in 6 to 8 months.I mean that's a solid box set. And price isn't completely insane.
Yeah, this one is fun. I have an OG. Glad it’s getting reissued though. This album fucks, btw. VMP or Mr. Bongo, whatever your pref. It's a banger.
I'mma take the over.It can be yours in 6 to 8 months.
Fela Kuti - The Best of The Black President
'The Best of The Black President' is a 4 LP, 180g box set containing a smattering of Fela's best singles and non-album tracks. With never-before-seen artwork of Kuti from his close friend and artist, Lemi Ghariokwu. Lacquers cut by Cicely Balston, and it's limited to 1000 units – never to be...www.vinylmeplease.com
To be fair, he’s got too many great songs to put on one “greatest hits” type box. Femi chose these apparentlyNo "Egbe Mi O"?
Boooooooooooooo
When you're famous they let you curate it. You can curate anything.Grab Em By the Pizza, Please!

I love the Oh No oneI’ve been massively enjoying the Off Air bundle VMP sent me by mistake. The Jenny Owen Youngs is a firm fave from the set but they’re all pretty great.
I’m kinda tempted to pick up what they have from the first set two. Any clangers in there or are they similarly brill.I love the Oh No one
