Maybe I’m not understanding something, but this was a repress right? How do the plates get damaged? I’m assuming they were in VMP’s possession?

There were probably left at the NOTVMPlant and, for some reason, someone do not want to ship them back to VMP.

Metalwork gets damaged all the time. Craft had to recut some of the jazz dispensary titles because the plates got damaged. They are often stored at pressing plants, not at the labels.
