That’s if there aren’t any delays.Even at 40 of your yankee dollars I'd have been all over Mishima but January before they get the stock? Ooooooof!
I'm going to hold my nose while I order this as that sort of pre-order period stinks for sure. But it's a great soundtrack. Excellent pick by them. Even if it is at least half a year before I get it in hand. That’s if there aren’t any delays.
I’m willing to give them some leeway here as I am certain the plant fucked up a lot of plans. I also have no doubt it screwed up some relationships with other plants and that has to be a headache to navigate.I'm going to hold my nose while I order this as that sort of pre-order period stinks for sure. Begs the question about why they didn't have the distribution ironed out when they chose the actual albums though.

That being said, no reason they couldn’t just hold off on announcing the title.
Laurie Anderson wasn't my bag but I could see the value. Morgan Subotnick is borderline unlistenable. The rest of the Nonesuch series I'll be happy to have copies of. Nice to see them doing stuff like this but pulling then series makes me think that they're heading in a different direction now which would be a real shameI’m willing to give them some leeway here as I am certain the plant fucked up a lot of plans. Oh I understand why they do it…They get to make $ on interest for a few months
They definitely went in a different direction - some of the titles will be rotm. I think it was decent series. I think the prices have been bananas.Laurie Anderson wasn't my bag but I could see the value. Morgan Subotnick is borderline unlistenable. If they'd done it as an anthology with a nice box, history of type of book and charged the members price (cumulative) I'd have ponied up for that though. Despite the one I'd never listen to being in there. I just think it's been such an interesting and eclectic series. Really, really good curation by whoever picked the set. They definitely went in a different direction - some of the titles will be rotm. I think it was decent series. If it had been an anthology it would have been like a thousand dollars. yea--i think the plant shenanigans definitely fucked some stuff up financially and in terms of scheduling. can't remember the exact timeline of when nonesuch was announced vs when VMP fired all the plant folks...Cashflow needs. Doesn’t feel nefarious or close to Bandbox-levels of carny. I think things will level out eventually, but then again maybe I’m ignorantly optimistic here.

The plant and VMP's relationship is dead. Unless VMP somehow ends up with the plant in the settlement, I imagine that either the plant will be liquidated, or somehow the plant will get outside funding and remain open, but press non-VMP stuff. All the outside funding for the plant was lost and Cam was supposedly using VMP money to fund it. Wonder what's happening to Gary Salstrom...VMP was paying his salary.I have an order that has been put back to December, was originally slated for July I think, it’s a long wait.
Is the plant dead ? It appeared to be so close to ready, but had a number of snags . I suppose the court case has stopped it in its tracks but seems worse to just abandon it. Wonder what happened to sound dude who was managing whole process forget his name….

Seems like some dodgy stuff was going on behind the scenes...enough to make a bunch of people get fired and a lawsuit to occur. Last I had heard, the plant had just started testing plating stuff. If there was some shady stuff going on, then I'm not surprised they would sever the relationship. Sorta seemed like the plant owners (Cam and co) were bleeding VMP dry and hiding some costs.Yeah I suppose that’s my point, if VMP basically funded it and it appeared so close to ready, could-behind the scenes discussions not made this work rather than a big messy shitshow and huge delays on orders anyhow ?
I mean everyone thought it was VMPs plant anyhow, fuck me it said VMP on the wall !
now that " Waht a wonderful world " from this release is on streaming it is pretty clear that he is not backed by the Royal Philharmonic. Just by his band. So something like "it sounds impeccable" is definitely bullshit, because he can nerver have herad the record when he claimed this. Was Storf high when he wrote the description for the Louis Armstrong album? Just saw it in my email and I might get the album but his description is off by like 12 years haha! This recording happened in 1968 unless I’m completely missing something. View attachment 203742
They had started giving tours out to journalists and YouTubers awhile back. Curious to see what this is about and how recent the guy’s tour is.I mean something is happening with the plant:
